The Divizia A 1976/77 was the 39th time in the history of Romanian football league Divizia A. It began on 22 August 1976, and ended on June 30, 1977. From mid-December to mid-March rested the game operation ( winter break ). Champion Dinamo Bucharest.

The Divizia A played with 18 teams. The three last-place teams were relegated in the Divizia B. For a victory, there were two points for a draw and one point for a loss no points.
