Ionel Dănciulescu

Ionel Daniel Dănciulescu (December 6, 1976 in Slatina, Olt County ) is a former Romanian football player. The striker played a total of 567 games in the Romanian Liga 1, the Turkish Süper Lig, the Chinese Super League and the Spanish Segunda División. In 2004 he was elected to the Romanian Footballer of the Year. With Steaua Bucharest and Dinamo Bucharest he won a total of five times, the Romanian Championship and the Romanian Cup five times.

Club career

Dănciulescu began playing football in his hometown at Css Slatina. The attacking players made ​​his debut in Divizia A on 16 October 1993 at the age of 16 years at the local derby of his new club against Universitatea Craiova Craiova Electro. After the descent of Electro Putere at the end of the 1994/95 season Dănciulescu moved to the capital to Dinamo Bucharest, where he immediately became a regular player. After a brief stint in the Turkish first division club Altay Izmir, he returned to Bucharest and signed a contract with Steaua Bucharest. With the club he was in subsequent years twice Romanian Champion and one Cup Winners' Cup. For the second half of the season 2001 /02 he moved again to Dinamo Bucharest, where he faithfully except for two short trips (2002 in the Divizia B to Poiana Campina, the former farm team of Dinamo, and 2005 in the Chinese Super League to Shandong Luneng ) to 2009 remained.

In summer 2009, he moved to Hércules CF in the Spanish Segunda División, but returned back already after one year to Dinamo. There he was in 2012 for the fifth time the Romanian Cup. In November 2013 he finished his playing career at the age of 36 years.

National

His international debut for the Romanian national football team played Dănciulescu on 3 March 1999 against Estonia. On 29 April 2004, the eight-time national player scored in the match against Germany in Bucharest two hits in a 5-1 victory for the Romanians.
