Irving Langmuir Award
The Irving Langmuir Award is an alternate annually by the American Chemical Society (even years) and the American Physical Society (odd years) award price in Physical Chemistry and Chemical Physics. It is named after Irving Langmuir. The winner should have made outstanding contributions in this field over the past ten years. He was in the U.S. have domiciled. The award was presented in 1931 by Dr. AC Langmuir, brother of Irving Langmuir, donated originally to celebrate the best young chemist in the United States. Later, General Electric took over the financing of the price. He is currently endowed with $ 10,000 (2012 ).
