ISO 3166-2:EG

The list of ISO -3166 -2 codes for Egypt contains the codes for the governorates in Egypt.

The codes are composed of two parts which are separated by a hyphen. The first part is the country code according to ISO 3166-1 ( for Egypt EC ), the second the code for the province again. The current country code is in the Newsletter II-2 dated 30 June 2010 (PDF) last updated.

There are the codes for the provinces of one to three letters for Egypt.

On 15 April 2011, two provinces were dissolved and the provinces of al - Giza or al - Qahira slammed.
