Istanbul Maltepespor
Spor Kulübü Maltepe or in the short form Maltepespor is a Turkish football club from Istanbul's Maltepe, was established in 1923. Their home games contests the team Hasan Polat City Stadium. The club colors are green, white and red.
History
Establishment and first years
The club was founded in 1923 under the name Maltepe Maltepe Gençler BİRLİGİ or Gençlerbirliği in his home district of Maltepe in the Turkish city Istanbul. Under this name, the team played until the year 1949 in the lower Istanbul amateur leagues. Subsequently, the club name was changed in Maltepe Gençlikspor. Later this club joined the two smaller clubs Maltepe Maltepe Güneşspor daha sonra Ağaspor and changed the club name to its current form.
Entry into professional football and the third league season
Unlike most smaller part of Istanbul's clubs, Maltepespor did not take the re-introduction of the third highest professional football league, the 3rd Lig, in the summer of 1984, the Turkish professional football part. Just a year after relegation in 2010 in the regional amateur league Maltepespor reached the championship of this league and returned with the rise in the third TFF Lig again in the Turkish professional football zuück.
