Silivrispor

Silivrispor Kulübü or in the short form Silivrispor is a Turkish football club from Istanbul's Silivri, was established in 1957. Their home games contests the team in Silivri Stadium. The club colors are red and blue.

History

Establishment and first years

The club was founded in 1957 under the name Silivrispor Kulübü in his home district of Silivri in the Turkish city Istanbul. Under this name, the team played until 1984 in the lower Istanbul amateur leagues.

Entry into professional football

After the summer of 1980, the Turkish professional football had been reduced from three to only two professional leagues, 1984, on directive of the then President Turgut Ozal, the third highest professional football league, the 3rd Lig, with its present name TFF 2 Lig reintroduced. In addition, it was announced that one could apply for a league participation after meeting certain requirements and conditions. In order to advance the city's development, several Stadtnotabeln tried it, to meet the requirements. After allowing the conditions fulfilled, the Turkish Football Federation confirmed participation. So Silivrispor participated in the season 1984/85 of the reintroduction of third Lig. As early as the second season, the club reached the championship of the third Lig and rose for the first time in club history in the second highest Turkish league, then called the second Lig on.

Relegation to the amateur league

In the second league ascended, the club failed in his first season in the league and second division returned to the 3rd league. In this league Silivrispor played until the summer of 1994, and then rose from the regional amateur league.

Return to professional football and modern times

In the regional amateur league in the season 2011/12 Silivrispor finished the league in second place and qualified for the playoff phase of the league in which the last climber was played in the third TFF Lig. In the playoffs, the team won against Emirdağspor and Bursa Merinosspor and thus rose to the third Lig. In order for the club after 18 years again took part in professional football.
