Sakaryaspor

Sakaryaspor is a Turkish football club, which is located in the town of Adapazarı. The best-known former players of the club are Hakan Şükür ( active there from 1987 to 1990 ) and Tuncay Şanlı. The team plays in the Sakarya Atatürk Stadium, which offers space for 14,100 spectators. Famous the club is primarily for his fans, who call themselves Tatangalar. Currently the club plays in the TFF 3 ligament

Club history

Foundation

The club Sakaryaspor arose from the union of İdmanyurdu, Güneşspor, Ada Gençlik and Gençlerbirliği than green and black were chosen. On June 17, 1965 Ekrem Bora was elected the first president of the newly founded clubs Sakaryaspor.

The first season (1965 /66)

The first coach of the team was Fikret Aldinç. The first squad consisted of the following players: Sari Ihsan Metin Fıçıcıgil, Mikail, Pıçır İsmet, Kaleci Sadettin, Rıfkı Manav, Musa Çetiner, Faruk, Zeki Aydintepe, Hüsnü Taşdemir, Arifiyeli Ihsan ERTEM, Erdoğan and Atilla. In the following years Sakaryaspor gained several times the opportunity for advancement, but they never made it due to the lack of experience. Due to the successes but Sakaryaspor increased its visibility.

1st League ( 1982-1988 )

After 17 years, finally managed Sakaryaspor with a strong squad and with many star players the expected rise. Even in their first season in the Super Lig Sakaryaspor enjoyed great success and has been the surprise team. The association held for five years in the Süper Lig, but then increased from due to financial problems. With the new president Aydin Zengin however, succeeded the immediate resurgence.

While the club was in the 1987/88 season in mid-table, great successes were celebrated in Fortis Türkiye Kupasi. Sakaryaspor could in fact prevail against the Great as Beşiktaş Istanbul and Fenerbahçe, and eventually won the final against Samsunspor the trophy. Thus, the club celebrated its biggest success and also gained the right to participate in the UEFA Cup. In this, they reached the 2nd round though, but could not prevail against the German representatives Eintracht Frankfurt.

Modern Times

In recent years, Sakaryaspor could not establish so right in the first division. It usually missing out on promotion in the playoffs the second division and could not qualify for the first division. With few exceptions Sakaryaspor held since 1990 in the second league, before the club in the modern era after five seasons again reached the summit for the season 2004/2005. In the same year, however, there was a departure as a table Sixteenth back out of the league before we climb back to the 2006/2007 season. The same picture as in the relegation two years earlier was repeated in 2007 and after 30 Round steady descent of the renewed Sakaryaspor. The team is once again risen to the TFF 1 Lig at the end of the season 10/11.

This choice was unsuccessful, so fans took over the club's management, thus preventing a club closure. After the 2:4 home defeat against Pendikspor 28 on matchday, the club for the first time in their history rose from the TFF Lig 3.

Venue

The club not since the early 1990s, its games in the Sakarya Atatürk Stadium. As part of ongoing since the mid- 2005's annual renewal of football stadiums in the Turkish population centers and the renovation of the venue of Sakaryaspor was decided. Thus, a modern pure football stadium to be built with a capacity for 25,000 spectators and was completed in 800 days.
