István Sofron

Sofron István (Hungarian Sofron István, born February 24, 1988 in Miercurea Ciuc, Romania) is a Hungarian ice hockey player who is since 2013 in the Krefeld Penguins in the German Ice Hockey League contract.

Career

István Sofron, who was born a member of the Hungarian-speaking minority in Romania Székely, began his career as a hockey player with Fehérvári Titánok, for whom he made ​​his debut in the Hungarian Ice Hockey League in the 2006/07 season. Then, the attacker moved to their league rivals Alba Volán Székesfehérvár, for in the Hungarian Hockey League as well as in the Austrian Hockey League, he stood parallel to the ice. With Alba Volánbusz it was 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012 Hungarian Champion. In the summer of 2013 he moved to Krefeld Penguins in the German Hockey League.

Internationally

For Hungary Sofron took part in the junior level at the Division I of the U20 Junior World Championship 2008. In the senior level, he stood in the squad of his country at the World Championships Division I 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013. Moreover, he took for Hungary participated in the Olympiqualifikationen for the Games in Vancouver in 2010 ( discharged in 2008/ 09) and Sochi 2014 ( held in 2013 ).
