Itagüí

Itagüí is a city in the province of Antioquia in Colombia. It borders the provincial capital of Medellín and belongs to the metropolitan region of Valle de Aburrá. The city has 230 272 inhabitants (as of June 2011). It is the most densely populated city in Colombia and one of the most industrialized.

Geography

Itagüí lies at an altitude of about 1550 meters. At the city limits in the north of Medellín, Medellín and Envigado in the east, to the west of La Estrella and Medellín and in the south Envigado, Sabaneta and La Estrella.

Traffic

Itagüí is connected to the metro network of Medellín.

Sports

In Itagüí the football club FC Itagüí resident, who has risen in the Colombian first division in 2010. The club plays its home games at the Estadio Metropolitano de Ciudad Itagüí. Itagüí was a venue of various competitions in South America Games that were held in Medellín in 2010.
