Ivan Cheparinov

Ivan Tscheparinow ( Bulgarian Иван Чепаринов; scientific transliteration Ivan Čeparinov; FIDE spelling Ivan Cheparinov; * November 26, 1986 in Assenovgrad ) is a Bulgarian chess player.

Career

His father Nedeltscho ( Bulgarian Неделчо ) (* 1958) earned him the age of five years and to play chess. Since Tscheparinows third place in the reserve group in Wijk aan Zee 2000, he is an International Master. The Grand Master title was awarded to him in October 2004.

Achievements

In 2000, he was Bulgarian Junior Champion, 2004 and 2005 Bulgarian champions. In Spain, he won several tournaments. When Chess Cup 2005 in Khanty-Mansiysk, he came up in the third round, where he switched off in the first round Aljaksej Fjodarau and in the second round Vasyl Ivanchuk. In the third round, he then lost in the tiebreaker against Magnus Carlsen scarce. When Essent tournament in Hoogeveen, he won the Open in October 2006. In April 2007, he was fifth at the European Championships in Dresden and won the Sigeman & Co tournament in Malmö. Chess club he plays in Bulgaria, the Netherlands and Spain. With the Spanish club Linex Magic Merida in October 2007, he won the European Club Cup in Kemer, where he received an individual gold medal with 6 out of 7 on the fifth board.

With its highest ever Elo rating of 2713 in January 2008, he was ranked 19 of the FIDE world ranking list.

Dante secondary activity

Since early 2005 he has Sekundant by Vesselin Topalov. Tscheparinow leads for Topalov by computer analysis and is blamed for many of the successful innovations in Topalows openings. The manager of Silvio Danailov is Tscheparinow, who also oversees Topalov.

The refused handshake

When Corus chess tournament in Wijk aan Zee in January 2008 Tscheparinow lost without a fight his game against Nigel Short, because he refused this at the beginning of the game handshake. After a protest Danailows the arbitrator's decision was revised and rescheduled the match, with the stipulation that Tscheparinow apologized and Short -rich hand. Short had expressed repeatedly in the past critically about Topalov and Danailov. The game won belated Short.
