Ivan Fedele

Ivan Fedele ( born May 6, 1953 in Lecce ) is an Italian composer.

Fedele studied at the Milan Conservatory piano with Bruno Canino, V. Vitale and Ilonka Deckers and composition with Azio Corghi Renato Dionisi and, later composition at the Accademia di Santa Cecilia in Donatoni and besides philosophy at the University of Milan.

In 1981 he was in Amsterdam the Gaudeamus Award for his first string quartet, 1989, he won with the epic orchestral work the first prize of Goffredo Petrassi - competition of Parma. In the 1990s he worked in Paris, where he résonance among other things, the duo en Intercontemporain for the ensemble and a piano concerto for the orchestra of Radio France composed and from 1992 to 1993 worked in the studios of IRCAM where Richiamo for a group of instruments and electronic instruments was born.

His festival concerts were performed at international festivals such as the Festival Musica in Strasbourg, Caen Festival, the Venice Biennale, the Barcelona Festival, Milano Musica Festival and the Helsinki dedicated to, and he has worked with conductors such as Pierre Boulez, Riccardo Muti, Myung- Whun Chung, David Robertson, Jonathan Nott, Pascal Rophé, Pierre- André Valade and Leonard Slatkin.

Fedele taught at the conservatories of Milan, Bologna, Turin and finally Strasburg and gives master classes.
