Ivar Mobekk
Ivar Mobekk ( born September 15, 1959 in Elverum ) is a former Norwegian ski jumper.
1979 won Mobekk who starts for the club Elverum IL, the bronze medal in the large hill at the Norwegian championships in ski jumping in Steinkjer. Due to this performance, he was then taken up in the national squad for the World Cup Ski Jumping newly created. His first World Cup start Mobekk denied on January 26, 1980 at Zakopane. Surprisingly, he could reach the second place in his first jump. In the second event of Zakopane he stood - this time as a third party - on the podium.
Reached at the Olympic Winter Games in 1980 and thus simultaneous Nordic World Ski Championships in Lake Placid Mobekk on the normal hill and 24th in the large hill 27th place. After this rather mediocre performance he put a one-year international break from competition to train in his native Norway.
On February 13, 1981, he started in the context of ski flying in Ironwood again in the World Cup and finished third in the first competition of the 4th and the second jump the 9th Place. A week later he was on February 22 in Thunder Bay to a 7th place in the first competition of the day before, jump to the 2nd place in the second jumping again on the podium. He could repeat this success on 28 February 1981, once in French Saint- Nizier. He finished the World Cup season 1980/81 on the 9th place in the overall standings. Shortly after the end of the season he won the gold medal on the normal hill at the Norwegian Championships in Eidsvoll. In the World Cup season 1981/82 he succeeded no more success. The best result was a 12th place in Štrbské Pleso end of the season. In the 1982/83 he also started only less successful. Only in Bischofshofen he could put his skills to the test again with a 10th place. After two more top-20 finishes in Lake Placid and Thunder Bay, Mobekk ended after the Ski Flying on February 19, 1983 in Vikersund, where he once again achieved a 7th place, his active ski jumping career.
