Jack Dunn (figure skater)
John Edward Powell "Jack" Dunn ( born March 28, 1917 in Royal Tunbridge Wells, England; † July 16, 1938 in Hollywood, Los Angeles, USA ) was a British figure skater who started in a single run.
He was at the World Championships 1935 in Budapest Vice World Champion behind Karl Schäfer. In the 1936 Olympics he finished sixth.
Dunn was a close friend and lover of Sonja Henie. After the Olympic Games in 1936, he accompanied Henie in the U.S. and was for the next two years, her skating partner on her show with which she toured the United States. The relationship ended when Henie began an affair with Tyrone Power. Shortly thereafter, Jack Dunn died from the effects of tularemia, with whom he had been infected when he had come on a hunt in Texas with an infected rabbits in touch.
