Jack Ruby (record producer)

Lawrence Lindo († April 1989), better known as Jack Ruby, was a Jamaican record producer and sound system operator. He is best known for his productions from the 1970s with artists such as Burning Spear.

Ruby lived and worked in Ocho Rios. He was the only significant Jamaican music producer outside of Kingston. Among the artists he produced, were next to Burning Spear Justin Hinds, The Gaylads, The Heptones, Big Youth and others.

Ruby is featured in the film Rockers of 1978 reggae culture of Jamaica.

23 years after his death, Ruby 2012 by the Jamaica Reggae Industry Association ( jaria ) awards for his work.
