Jacob Epstein

Sir Jacob Epstein KBE ( born November 10, 1880 in New York; † August 19, 1959 in London ) was a British - American sculptor and draftsman.

He was born the son of Jewish Russian- Polish parents in New York. After studying at the All Students League in New York from 1894 to 1902 and at the Académie Julian and the École nationale supérieure des beaux -arts de Paris, he lived from 1905 in England and took British citizenship in 1910. In 1954 he was awarded the Knight title.
