Jacques Grimonpon

Jacques Grimonpon ( born July 30, 1925 in Tourcoing, † January 23, 2013 in Cap Ferret ) was a French football player.

Playing career

The left-back played after the Second World War at Lille, with whom he won the Gold Filled (French league and cup in the same season) in 1946; while the 20- year-old was, however, only come in seven league matches to use and was not in the victorious Finalelf the national cup. As Lille in 1947 again brought the trophy to Northern France, he was again not used in the final; at the defender positions played in two years, Marceau Somerlinck and Joseph Jadrejak.

For the period 1947-1949, a gap exists in the representations. He then played in the second division club Lyon Olympique Universitaire ( 1949/50, 7th place in the final table ) and Olympique Lyon (1950 /51), who rose as second division champions at season's end. Jacques Grimonpon it moved back to the north, however, where he finished with the Erstdivisionär Le Havre AC twice a midfield place in the table.

From 1953 he was at the Bordeaux under contract. He was third in 1954 and played in person such a strong season that he was appointed to the French squad for the Soccer World Cup in 1954. In Switzerland, however, he did not play, and he has also followed the blue jersey of the A national team never worn.

In the club he was from 1954 captain of the team that starred again in 1955 as the sixth of the final ranking for the championship. In addition, his Girondins reached the cup final in the same year - the first in which he himself was used - it had to bow to Lille OSC but with 2:5. A year later, Bordeaux rose league - 17th surprising from; Grimonpon but kept the club in the second division fidelity. After it did not work with the chances of promotion, the defender in 1957 ended his pro career.
