Jaime Soto

Jaime Soto ( born December 31, 1955 in Inglewood ) is Roman Catholic Bishop of Sacramento.

Life

Jaime Soto received on 12 June 1982, the ordination to the priesthood for the Diocese of Orange in California.

Pope John Paul II appointed him on 23 March 2000 as Auxiliary Bishop of the Diocese of Orange in California as well as titular bishop of Segia. The Bishop of Orange in California, Death David Brown, subsequently consecrated him on 31 May of the same year the bishop; Co-consecrators were Michael Patrick Driscoll, Bishop of Boise City, and the emerierte Bishop of Orange in California, Norman Francis McFarland.

On 11 October 2007 Pope Benedict XVI appointed him. Coadjutor of the Diocese of Sacramento. With the resignation of William Keith Weigand 29 November 2008 Soto followed them as Bishop of Sacramento.
