Jakob Rem

Jakob Rem SJ (* June 1546 in Bregenz, Vorarlberg, † October 12, 1618 in Ingolstadt ) was a Bavarian -acting, Catholic priest and youth minister. He founded the Marian Congregations in Germany and the devotion to the Mother Thrice Admirable.

Life

Jakob Rem was the son of a family of innkeepers. He attended the Latin school run by Jesuits in Dillingen on the Danube and entered the University in 1564 with the philosophical studies. Once finished, the top of his cohort in 1566 he joined the Society of Jesus. Among the theological studies his superiors sent him to Rome, where he - along with Stanislaus Kostka and Claudio Acquaviva - ableistete the novitiate.
