James Anthony Tamayo

James Anthony Tamayo (born 23 October 1949 in Brownsville, Texas) is a bishop of Laredo.

Life

James Anthony Tamayo received on 11 July 1976, the ordination to the priesthood for the Diocese of Corpus Christi.

Pope John Paul II appointed him on 26 January 1993 Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Galveston - Houston and titular bishop of Ita. The Bishop of Galveston - Houston, Joseph Anthony Fiorenza, donated to him, on 10 March of the same year, the episcopal ordination; Co-consecrators were the Bishop of Corpus Christi, Rene Henry Gracida, as well as the Bishop of Brownsville, Enrique San Pedro.

On 3 July 2000 the appointment followed the bishop of the newly established Diocese of Laredo, on 9 August of that year, the enthronement took place.
