James Augustine

James Augustine (born 27 February 1984 in Midlothian (Illinois ) ) is an American professional basketball player. He plays the Russian BK Khimki on the position of power forward.

Career

College

Augustine played four years for the basketball team of the University of Illinois. As a freshman, he immediately came to the starting team. During his college years he put on some club records. In the season 2005/ 06 he was nominated in the Big Ten Conference 1st team.

Professional

Augustine was selected in the 2006 NBA Draft as the 41st. He played two seasons in the NBA for the Orlando Magic. At the same time he was employed in NBDL Anaheim Arsenal and scored in eight games four times a double-double. He then moved to Spain. Augustine played for two years for CB Gran Canaria. In the 2009/10 season he reached the quarter-finals with Gran Canaria in ULEB Eurocup and was chosen to the All- Eurocup Second Team. In the 2010/11 season Augustine played for Power Electronics Valencia. With Valencia he played in the ULEB Euro League and reached there the Top16. He then went for a year to UCAM Murcia. At the beginning of the 2012/13 season signed a contract with the Russian Augustine BK Khimki. With Khimki he again reached the TOP16 of the Euro League in the 2012/13 season.
