James Blake (musician)

James Blake ( * 1988 in Deptford, London ) is an English musician. He makes as a singer-songwriter electronic pop music. In many of his works he processed stylistic device of dubstep. He is also known under the pseudonym Harmonimix and founding member of the music label 1-800 Dinosaur.

Life

Blake is the son of British guitarist James Litherland and went in Winchmore Hill primary school, then attended The Latymer School in Edmonton further. He studied popular music at Goldsmiths, University of London, where he attended classes with singer Katy B.

Work

In July 2009 he published his first EP Air & Lack Thereof. 2010 published a further three EPs, with the song CMYK was released as the first single and was played on the BBC.

His recent on R & S Records in February 2011 debut album James Blake received positive feedback. The NZZ called his live performance in April 2011 in Zurich "trend -setting ".

His second studio album Overgrown appeared in April 2013.
