Katy B
Katy B ( born July 23, 1989; actually Kathleen Brien ) is a British singer- songwriter.
Life
Kathleen Brien aka Katy B grew up in Peckham, a district of the London Borough of Southwark. She received her musical training at the famous BRIT School, where she was sitting about, among other things with the British dubstep coming artists James Blake in a class. She graduated in Popular Music at Goldsmiths College. In 2007, she acted as 'Baby Katy ' with the production Tell Me by DJ NG, which later appeared first on a white label on Ministry of Sound. Together with Geeneus was a cover version of originally produced by Kevin Saunderson songs Good Life. On his record label Rinse appeared in August 2010, their debut single Katy on a Mission. She is also on the debut album of DJ duo The Count & Sinden (Mega Mega Mega, 2010) with the song Hold Me The published in October 2010, the second single release Perfect Stranger the group Magnetic Man, she borrowed also her voice (the song appeared on the eponymous album Magnetic Man, where she has also been heard on the track " crossover" ). Before finally got their album for publication, appeared the second single Lights On, a collaboration with the London singer Ms. Dynamite. Their first concert in Germany, she gave up the Melt! Festival 2011.
Music
Musically it moves in the genres of Hip- Hop, Dubstep, Drum and Bass, R & B, funk, house and garage. It occurs among other things, with the hip -hop band The Iller Sapiens. Her debut album On a Mission was released on 4 April 2012, and reached the second place in the UK album charts. In 2012 she won an NME Award in the category " Best Dancefloor Anthem" (Best Dance Floor Anthem ) for her song Broken Record.
She was complicit in Mark Ronson's song Anywhere in the World, which serves as the song for the 2012 Summer Olympics and also contains elements of Coca Cola. On December 7, 2012, they released the four- tracks EP Danger for free download on its website.
On July 5, 2013 was also released in Germany their single What Love Is Made Of.
