James Byeram Owens

James Byeram Owens (* 1816 near Winnsboro, Fairfield County, South Carolina; † August 1, 1889 in Ocala, Marion County, Florida) was an American politician (Democratic Party) in the 19th century. He was the brother of Ethelbert Barksdale and grandfather of John Wellborn Martin. He also was Baptist.

Owens was in 1860 a delegate of the Florida Democratic National Convention. In the following year he represented those State in whose secession convention. Then he was elected to the Provisional Konföderiertenkongress, where he worked on 6 February 1861 to 15 February 1862.

He died in 1889 in Ocala, Florida and was subsequently buried there on the Evergreen Cemetery.
