James Fox

James Fox ( born May 19, 1939 in London, William Fox actually ) is a British actor.

Life

At age eleven, he played his first leading role in 1950 in the Ealing production The Magnet. Later he attended the Central School of Speech and Drama.

His actor's breakthrough came with the lead role in Joseph Losey's The Servant (1963). After his role in the 1970 film shot by Donald Cammell Performance ( co-director Nicolas Roeg ), Fox moved for eight years from acting back.

After his comeback Fox starred in films such as A Passage to India (1984 ), Absolute Beginners - Young Heroes (1986 ) with Patsy Kensit and David Bowie, The Russia House (1990 ) with Sean Connery, Michelle Pfeiffer and Roy Scheider, The hour of Patriots (1992 ) with Harrison Ford and What remains of the Day (1993 ) with Anthony Hopkins, Emma Thompson and Hugh Grant. In Anna Karenina, starring Sophie Marceau in the title role and Sean Bean as Count Vronsky rival Fox played Prince Alexei Alexandrovich Karenin 1997. In 1999 he was I to see in the film comedy Mickey Blue Eyes with Hugh Grant and James Caan and The Prince & next to Julia Stiles.

In 2005 he participated in the two-part British television film Colditz - escape to freedom on the side of his son Laurence Fox in the same year on the film adaptation of Roald Dahl's classic children's book Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

James Fox is married to Mary Elizabeth Piper since 1973 and has five children, including the actor Laurence Fox and Jack. His brothers are the actor Edward Fox and film producer Robert Fox, his niece is the actress Emilia Fox.
