Jamie Woon

Jamie Woon ( born March 29, 1983) is a British singer. Musically, he is somewhere between soul, R & B and deep house.

Biography

Woon has a very musical background. His mother Mae McKenna is a Celtic folk singer and has been involved as a background singer with many hits the big stars of Blur on Kylie Minogue to Michael Jackson. His uncle Hugh McKenna of Sensational Alex Harvey is keyboardist band. Woon himself was 15 years old the first time a band, and attended the renowned artist blacksmith BRIT School.

Attention to the first time on he made in 2006 with a self-produced recording of folk songs The Wayfaring Stranger. A remix on his debut single comes from Dubstepper Burial. BBC DJ Gilles Peterson took woon's version on one of his compilation albums.
