Burial (musician)

Burial is the stage name of the British dubstep musician William Bevan. His music contains elements of dubstep, Two Step, Ambient and House. As a person, the artist remained anonymous until August 2008, biographical data are hardly known.

Music

His 2006 self-titled debut album was posted to a majority of above-average reviews. The British magazine The Wire chose it for album of the year, in Mixmag was voted fifth best album of the year 2006. In September 2007, the label Hyperdub announced the release of their second album. Untrue was released on 5 November 2007. Criticism also took the second album on consistently positive. On his MySpace blog, the artist denied the circulating at the same place on the internet rumor that 2008 would be a Burial album in the DJ-Kicks series appear.

According to the company Burial produces almost all of its pieces with the audio editor Sound Forge. He wanted to avoid the use of trackers and sequencers.

Identity

Although both albums was very well received, Burial remained anonymous until August 2008. In an earlier interview he said that " only five people know that I 'm doing songs " ( "only five people know I make tunes" ). In February 2008, The Independent reported that Burial was an alumnus of the London School named William Bevan Elliott.

Since the release of his first album, the myths around Burials identity. It is always the assumption that Kieran Hebden aka Four Tet Burial was discussed on the Internet. In June 2013, the website posted an article about it Equalizer in which a Facebook screenshot of Four Tet and a Twitter message from Caribou should verify this claim. However, this is at page called a satire site and the posted images can not be tracked. In addition, Kieran Hebden responded immediately by Twitter and refuted the rumor: "I have Never Said ever did I am Burial anywhere You Should all show a bit more respect for Will Bevan who is Burial One of the greatest musicians / producers of our time. .. "

22 July 2008 The Guardian reported that Burial was nominated for the Mercury Music Prize in 2008. In the wake of the related reporting Burial confirmed the information of the Independent about his person. He posted a picture of himself on his MySpace page on August 5, 2008. Burial In a blog entry stated that he was " a restrained person ... just want to make a few songs, not more." The above award was won by the British alternative rock band Elbow.
