Johannes Hermanus Hendrikus "Jan" Zwartkruis ( born February 18, 1926 in Elst, † March 7, 2013 in Soesterberg ) was a Dutch football coach.

Career

Zwartkruis overall was twice coach of the Netherlands. In 1976 he took over the post from George Knobel for a year before he was replaced by the Austrian Ernst Happel before the Football World Cup 1978. After the 1978 World Cup Zwartkruis was again coach of the Netherlands and the successor of his successor. Zwartkruis was responsible for the company European Football Championship 1980. He won through as group winners in qualifying, with only one defeat against Poland. At the European Championships but it was not so splendid as in qualifying. The Netherlands resigned after a defeat against Germany and a draw against Czechoslovakia as a third group in the preliminary round from just the game against Greece could be won.
