Jana Dörries

Jana Dorries (* September 24, 1975 in Potsdam ) is a German former swimmer. She won in 1992 with the medley relay an Olympic silver medal.

Jana Dorries launched for the OSC Potsdam. In 1990, she won at the German Championship in the 100 meters and 200 meters breaststroke. About 100 meters breaststroke it was in 1990 European Junior Champion. In the World Swimming Championships in Perth in January 1991 she won the 100m breaststroke second behind the Australian Linley Frame, about 200 meters she finished third behind Jelena Volkova and frame. The medley relay in the cast Svenja simplicity, Jana Dorries, Susanne Müller and Manuela Stellmach also won bronze.

1992 Dorries was German champion in the 100 -meter breaststroke and third parties about 200 meters. At the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona Dorries finished fifth in the 100 meters breast. The German medley relay with Dagmar Hase, Jana Dorries, Franziska van Almsick and Daniela Hunger won silver behind the U.S. women.

1994 Dorries won again at the German championships on both breast routes. At the European Championships in Vienna in 1995 Dorries took fourth place 100m breaststroke; the German medley relay in the cast Cathleen round, Jana Dorries, Julia Voitowitsch and Franziska van Almsick won the title before the Hungarians. Dorries ended her career in 1997.
