Jaroslav Bába

Jaroslav Bába ( born September 2, 1984 in Opava) is a Czech high jumper.

At the Olympic Games in Athens in 2004, he won the bronze medal with 2.34 meters behind Stefan Holm (SWE ) and the same height Matt Hemingway (USA). Earlier this year, he had already won bronze at the World Indoor Championships in Birmingham.

At the World Athletics Championships in Helsinki in 2005, he came in fifth in the 2007 World Championships in Osaka to eighth place. At the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, he finished sixth and in the 2009 World Championships in Berlin fifth.

2010 Bába jumped at the European Championships in Barcelona to fifth place. The following year he was fourth at the World Championships in Daegu. At the European Championships 2012 in Helsinki, he reached the eighth place, but at the Olympic Games in London shortly afterwards he did not make it into the finals.

In March 2013 Bába won the bronze medal in the high jump at the Indoor Athletics Championships 2013 in Gothenburg, Sweden.

Jaroslav Bába is 1.96 m tall and weighs 80 kg. On 8 July 2005, he put on his personal best of 2.36m in Rome.
