Jean-Claude Périsset

Jean -Claude Périsset ( born April 13, 1939 in Estavayer -le- Lac, Canton of Fribourg, Switzerland ) is a Roman Catholic archbishop and diplomat of the Holy See. He was from 2007 to 2013 Apostolic Nuncio in Germany.

Life

Jean -Claude Périsset comes from the Diocese of Lausanne, Geneva and Fribourg. He attended high school in Fribourg, Switzerland. 1958 to 1959 he studied philosophy in Sarnen. Thereafter, he was admitted to the diocesan seminary in Freiburg and studied theology. On June 28, 1964, he received the priesthood in Freiburg. From 1965 to 1969 Périsset worked as a pastor at the Basilica of Notre -Dame in Geneva, last vicar.
