Jean Dujardin

Jean Dujardin ( born June 19, 1972 in Rueil -Malmaison, Hauts -de -Seine département ) is a French actor, comedian and Oscar winner.

Life

Dujardin first worked as a locksmith. After his military service he played on local cabarets. He joined the Ensemble " Nous C nous", with whom he won three times between 1997 and 1998 in the category " comedian " in the French television show Graines de stars. He and his wife Alexandra Lamy he played between 1999 and 2003 in the French adaptation of the Canadian sitcom Un gars, une fille.

Due to its enormous popularity, he received the 2002 first film roles. After a few minor roles he had with the film comedy Cool Waves - Brice de Nice, which was based on one of his stand-up figures, his breakthrough in the French cinema; the film had more than four million viewers. With Le Casse de Brice from the movie soundtrack, a rap on the music of Give Me the Night by George Benson, he had a big chart hit in the French- speaking world. In 2006 he played the lead role in the spy movie spoof OSS 117 - The spy who loved himself, which is based on the novel hero OSS 117. This film was a box office success with over two million viewers, as well as the continuation of 2009.

For his role as silent movie actor George failing Valentin in Michel Hazanavicius ' The Artist (2011) he received in 2012 the first French actor Oscar for best male lead role. Other awards were the Best Actor Award of the 64th Cannes Film Festival, the Golden Globe Award, the British Academy Film Award as well as nominations for the European Film Award and César.
