Jean-Marc Mormeck

Jean -Marc Mormeck ( born June 3, 1972 in Pointe -à- Pitre, Guadeloupe ) is a French boxer.

Professional career

Mormeck was pro in 1995 at light heavyweight and already lost two of his first five fights on points. His first success was winning the French league title in the light heavyweight division in November 1998.

In 2001, he boxed at cruiserweight. On February 23, 2002, he challenged the WBA titlist Virgil Hill in Marseille. He dominated the Americans and eventually led him to give up the fight after the eighth round. Hill was also tested following positive for steroids. After two title defenses came in May 2004 in South Africa for rematch with Hill, the Mormeck also, though just barely on points, could decide for themselves.

On 18 December 2009 he returned successfully in the boxing ring, this time in the heavyweight division.
