Jenny Longuet

Jenny Longuet Caroline, nee Marx ( born May 1, 1844 in Paris, † January 11, 1883 in Argenteuil ) was the eldest daughter of Jenny and Karl Marx. Her siblings were Laura, Edgar, Henry Edward Guy (Guido; Föxchen ), Jenny Eveline Francis ( Frances ) and Eleanor.

Life

1870 published in the French newspaper La Marseillaise under the pseudonym J. Williams article on the treatment of Irish prisoners. 1872 she married the socialist Charles Longuet, both had six children, including four sons and one daughter who survived her mother. Jenny Marx Longuet died two months before her father likely to bladder cancer, at the age of 38 years. She was the " favorite daughter " of Marx. Her sons Jean Longuet and Edgar Longuet also engaged as French Socialists.

Poetry Album

Jenny led an English-language poetry album whose questionnaire between 1865 and their parents Jenny and Karl, and 1868 the housekeeper Helena Demuth and Friedrich Engels answered. She herself wore in 1865 as follows:
