Jeong Do-jeon
Jeong Do- jeon (* 1337, † August 26, 1398 ) was a Korean politician of the Goryeo Dynasty and Joseon Dynasty, neokonfuzianischer philosopher and writer.
Life
Jeong was born into a noble family, the son of a high government official. Closely connected with it was Taejo, the first king of the Joseon Dynasty. As Neo-Confucians him floated a Confucian State prior to the trinity of Monarch, officialdom and the people. So he was able to perform radical reforms and create the economic and political basis for the new 500-year -long Joseon Dynasty in the early 14th century. He therefore considered the founding father of the Joseon Dynasty.
As Taejo 1394 the relocation of the capital Kaesong after Hanyang, now Seoul prompted, Jeong was responsible for the implementation and architect of the Gyeongbokgung [ kjəŋp'okk'uŋ ], the first and largest of the Five Grand Palaces, which was completed in 1395.
1397 were compiled Jeong's political thoughts and teachings for " Gyeongguk Daejeon ", which was known as the " Great Code to guide the nation." A year later he was assassinated.
His literary name was sambong ( 삼봉 ,三峰).
