Jerome Edward List Niemiecki (born 12 March 1949 in Chicago, USA), Archbishop of Milwaukee.

Life

Jerome List Niemiecki received on 14 May 1975 the Archbishop of Chicago, Cardinal John Cody, the sacrament of Holy Orders.

On 7 November 2000, Pope John Paul II appointed titular bishop of Nara and auxiliary bishop in Chicago. The Archbishop of Chicago, Francis Cardinal George, OMI, donated to him on 8 January 2001, the episcopal ordination; Co-consecrators were the Archbishop of Portland in Oregon, John George Vlazny, and the Archbishop of Kansas City, James Patrick Keleher. On December 29, 2004 John Paul II appointed him bishop of La Crosse. The inauguration took place on 1 March 2005. On November 14, 2009 Pope Benedict XVI appointed him. Archbishop of Milwaukee. The inauguration took place on January 4, 2010.
