Jesper Modin

Jesper Modin ( born June 4, 1988 in Sundsvall ) is a Swedish cross-country skier.

Life and career

Modin first appeared at the Junior World Championships in 2007 in the Italian Tarvisio in appearance. He missed fourth in the sprint competition just a medal. About 10 km freestyle, he finished in eleventh place. The good performance at the Junior World Championships allowed him his first start in the Cross Country World Cup. During the sprint competition in the domestic Stockholm, he left in the quarter -finals and won in 14th in his first World Cup points use. 2008 Modin won the silver medal in the sprint competition at the Junior World Championships in Mals. Over a distance of 10 km classic he could occupy the sixth place. At the beginning of the 2008/09 season came Modin in the sprint in Kuusamo to his second World Cup competition. The two meter tall athlete moved into the semi-finals, but where he failed. In the B- final, he was able to take second place and thus recorded the eighth place in the final. After some less successful launches in the World Cup, Modin took mid-season mainly in competitions of the Scandinavian Cup, where he won among others the sprint in Riga for themselves. In the overall standings of the Scandinavian Cup, he finished the season in third place. In March, he reached the semi-finals in the domestic Trondheim again a World Cup sprint competition. With the tenth place, he secured the 26th place in the overall World Cup sprint events. In the 2009/10 season Modin fought for third place in Slovenia Rogla his first podium finish.
