Jestřebí (Náchod District)

Jestřebí ( German Habichtsau ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. , Lies two kilometers northeast of Nove Mesto nad Metují and belongs to Okres Náchod.

Geography

The place is located on the left side of the notch Tales of Mettau on a plateau. North of Hell reason ( Peklo ) lies with the confluence of the Olešenka and Mettau.

Neighboring towns are Peklo in the north, Sendraž in the northeast, Mezilesí in the east, and Nouzín Libchyně the southeast, Blažkov and Rezek in the south, Nove Mesto nad Metují the southwest, Vrchoviny in the west and Přibyslav in the northwest.

History

Jestřebí was probably founded in the 14th century. Was first documented in 1459 in the village of Landtafel. 1527 acquired by Vojtěch Pernštejna ( 1490-1534 ) the place and incorporated it into the Nové Město nad Metují one. During the Thirty Years' War the Swedes pillage Jestřebí 1646.

Jestřebí 1878 was one of the first places in the area in which established a volunteer fire department. 1948 was founded in the village of Czech Association of allotment holders. The local government reform of 1960 along with Libchyně was the incorporation into the community Sendraž. Since 1990 Jestřebí is a separate municipality again and leads since 2003 a coat of arms.

  • Bartoňova útulna at the Olešenka in Peklo; the tourist restaurant in folk architecture was designed 1909-1912 by architect Dusan Jurkovic from an old mill
