Jim Robinson (trombonist)

Jim Robinson, also Big Jim Robinson ( born December 25, 1892 in Deer Range, Plaquemines Parish, Louisiana as Nathan Robinson; † May 4, 1976 in New Orleans), was an American New Orleans jazz trombonist.

Jim Robinson was a veteran of the New Orleans jazz, for his deep, robust " Tailgate " was known style. Robinson came to New Orleans as a teenager and began playing professionally as Zwanzigjähiger. In the 1920s, he contributed to recordings of Sam Morgan Jazz Band and was a member of the early New Orleans jazz bands of Bunk Johnson and George Lewis. In his later years, he led his own band and performed regularly at Preservation Hall.

Big Jim Robinson's most popular title was Ice Cream, he recorded the 1940 American Music Records.
