Jim Vandermeer

James Patrick "Jim" Vandermeer ( born February 21, 1980 in Caroline, Alberta ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player who plays for the Kloten Flyers in the National League A at the position Defender since the 2013/14 season. Prior to that, he completed almost 500 games in the National Hockey League.

Career

Vandermeer, who was never drafted, started his career as a hockey player in 1997 at the Red Deer Rebels of the Western Hockey League. In his last season with the Rebels, in the 2000 /01 season, he led his team as a captain on ice and received for his social commitment, Doug Wickenheiser Memorial Trophy. In the summer of 2001, Vandermeer signed a contract with the Philadelphia Flyers as a free agent.
