Jistebník

Jistebník ( German Stiebnig ) is a municipality in the Moravian-Silesian Region of the Czech Republic in the east.

History

Stiebnig was founded as Lokalie 1280-1290 and populated by mostly German inhabitants; it had about 1805 about 1000, mostly German -speaking, Roman Catholic population in about 150 houses. 1910 was the colloquial language of approximately 95% of the inhabitants of German. Stiebnig belonged in the period before the Second World War the county Wagstadt.

As in the entire region, the German population was expelled in 1946.

After the Second World War Stiebnig belonged to the Okres Nový Jičín.
