Sedlnice

Sedlnice ( German Sedlnitz ) is a municipality with 1352 inhabitants ( 2006) in the Czech Republic. It is located five kilometers north-west of Příbor in Kuhländchen and belongs to Okres Nový Jičín. The land area is 1372 ha

Geography

The village is situated in 254 m asl in north-south direction along the eponymous creek Sedlnice. To the northeast lies the site of Ostrava Leoš Janáček Airport (OSR / LKMT ). North of the village takes you past the railway line Studénka - Veřovice, south of the State Road 48 / European Route 462 between Nový Jičín and Příbor.

Neighboring towns are Nová Horka and Albrechtičky in the north, Mošnov in the northeast, and Skotnice Prchalov in the east, in the southeast Příbor, Borovets and Závišice in the south, southwest, and Bartosovice Libhošť in the west.

History

The first time in 1267 as a media villa Sedlicz mentioned place was probably built during the colonization under Přemysl Otakar II by Bishop Bruno of castle and Count Hückeswagen. Sedlnice has long been a bishop's possession, a part of the village was a fief of the lords of Kravař to high forest. From this, the two villages developed Erb - Sedlnitz ( Dědičná Sedlnice ) and Lehn - Sedlnitz ( Manská Sedlnice ).

1373 was called to inheritance Sedlnitz Peter of Choltitz from Pardubice as the owner. Below is his descendants named as Sedlnitzky of Choltitz. Katharina Schiller stoves and related products. Sedlnitzky of Choltitz, has been the last mistress of Sedlnice that comes from this generation. 1772 Countess of Canal and related products. In 1642 the Swedes invaded looted the village. After the replacement of patrimonial regimes emerged in 1850 two separate villages. 1863 Lehn and inheritance Sedlnitz were combined to form a community. 1881 Sedlnice received at the newly opened local train from Studénka after Štramberk a train station. 1910, the place had 1854 inhabitants, of whom most were German.

The cholera epidemic of 1866 were 90 people died and 1918 called the Spanish flu killed 40. 1949, the land of Dědičná Sedlnice was nationalized. 1950 Sedlnice had 1948 inhabitants. This year also saw the construction of the civil and military airfield Mošnov began. A part of Borovets was spun off in 1959 at the request of the population according to Libhošť.

Personalities

  • Joseph von Eichendorff, Romantic poet dwells on several occasions with his brother Wilhelm von Eichendorff on the castle and inherited in 1849 the manorial Sedlnitz.
