Hukvaldy

Hukvaldy ( German high forest ) is located on the left side of the Ondřejnice in Okres Frýdek- Místek ( Moravia ) in the north of the Moravian- Silesian Beskids mountain range in the Czech Republic.

History

The town was founded in 1566 by the Olomouc Bishop Wilhelm Prusinovský who received it from the Emperor Maximilian II. To place a part of a large game reserve (Czech: Obora ) and since 1858 also a stud.

Community structure

The municipality consists of the villages Dolni Hukvaldy Sklenov (sub Glasses village), Horni Sklenov (Upper glasses village), Hukvaldy ( Hochwald ) and Rychaltice ( Bartelsdorf ).
