Bukovec (Frýdek-Místek District)

Bukovec ( Bukowetz German, Polish Bukowiec ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located five kilometers south-east of Jablunkov in the Beskydy Mountains and belongs to Okres Frýdek- Místek. In the corridors of the municipality is located at 49 ° 33 '1 " N, 18 ° 51 ' 32 " O49.55027777777818.858888888889 the easternmost point of the Czech Republic.

Geography

Bukovec is to the left of the Olsa in Jablunkov furrow ( Jablunkovská Brázda ) between the Silesian Beskids and the Jablunkov Bergland. The village extends along the Olsa inflow Zarembčok to the southeast to the foot of Sušanský vrch (618 m). Northeast of Bukovec the 571 m high Kempa rises behind the road border crossing Bukovec / Jasnowice brought to Poland. Significantly higher the Girova in the south west with 839 m.

Neighboring towns are Jasnowice in the east, and Łącki Jaworzynka the southeast, Komorovsky Grúň and Hrčava in the south and Pisek in the northwest.

History

Bukovec was founded on May 31, 1353 by Duke Casimir I of Cieszyn.

Opened in 1792 in the village of a church school. Duke Albrecht von Teschen left in 1855 to build a new school building. 1914 at Bukovec the last wolf was killed in the Beskids. He was prepared and has long been exhibited in the Bezruč School in Frýdek- Místek. In 1921, a Czech school that moved into a new school house was built in 1937. The tourist lodge on the Girova was opened on 9 July 1932. After the Munich Agreement Bukowiec fell in 1938 to Poland. On 25 June 1939, the consecration of the Catholic Church of the Assumption was made. After the German occupation of Poland Bukowetz was conducted as part of the district of Teschen part of the German Empire.

After the end of World War II, the place came back to Czechoslovakia and belonged to Okres Český Těšín, which was dissolved in 1960. In 1975 the annexation to Jablunkov where Bukovec the district Jablunkov V in 1990 to the restoration of independence - formed Bukovec.
