Joacim Esbjörs

Joacim Esbjörs ( born July 4, 1970 in Gothenburg ) is a retired Swedish professional ice hockey player. His father, Lars -Erik and his Esbjörs Brunder Jonas Esbjörs were also professional hockey players.

Career

Joacim Esbjörs began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the junior section of the Västra Frölunda HC, for the first team, he made his debut in the then still second-class Division 1 in the 1988/89 season. With Frölunda he popped straight up in the Elitserien, in which the defender was a regular in the following nine years. The 1998/99 season spent the World Champion of 1992 Ässät Pori of the Finnish SM- liiga. He then returned to his native Sweden, where he spent the HV71 further two seasons in the Elitserien, before he ended his career at the age of 31 years.

Internationally

For Sweden Esbjörs took at junior level at the U18 European Junior Championships in 1988 and the U20 Junior World Cup 1990 part. In the senior level, he stood in his country's squad at the World Championships in 1992, where he won the gold medal with his team.
