Joe Blewitt

Joe Blewitt (actually Charles Edward Blewitt; born 1 November 1895 in Upton -upon- Severn, Worcestershire, † May 30 1954 in Birmingham ) was a British long-distance runner and steeplechaser.

At the 1920 Summer Olympics he finished fifth in the 5000m. In the team race over 3000m he came to fifth place and won with the British team silver.

In 1923 he won for England starting at the Nations Cross. In 1928, he retired at the Olympic Games in Amsterdam from over 3000 m steeplechase in the flow.

1920, 1923 and 1925, he has been English champions four miles, ten miles in 1919 and 1924 over two miles obstacle.
