Joe Muranyi

Joe Muranyi ( born January 14, 1928 in Martins Ferry, Ohio; † 20 April 2012) was an American jazz musician (clarinet, saxophone and vocals) Hungarian descent.

Career

Muranyi studied music at the " Manhattan School of Music" and the " Columbia University ", including Bill Russo and Simeon Bellison, the first clarinetist of the New York Philharmonic. Muranyi played in various Dixieland bands, so even with Danny Barker and 1952-1954 in the Red Onion Jazz Band. At the same time he worked as a record producer and was the author of Cover Texts of Atlantic Records, and RCA Records Bethlehem. Muranyi played with Max Kaminsky, Yank Lawson and Jimmy McPartland, before going into the All Star Band by Louis Armstrong came in 1967, with the soon joined him a good friendship.
