Joe S. Vasquez

Joe Steve Vásquez ( born July 9, 1957 in Stamford ) is an American Bishop of Austin.

Life

The Bishop of San Angelo, Joseph Anthony Fiorenza, ordained him priest on 30 January 1988.

Pope John Paul II appointed him on 30 November 2001 as Auxiliary Bishop of Galveston - Houston and Titular Bishop of Cova. The Bishop of Galveston - Houston, Joseph Anthony Fiorenza, donated to him on 23 January of the next year, the episcopal ordination; Co-consecrators were Patrick Fernández Flores, Archbishop of San Antonio, and Michael David Pfeifer, Bishop of San Angelo. As a motto he chose Sigueme.

On 26 January 2010, he was appointed bishop of Austin and introduced into the office on March 8 of the same year.
