Johan Brolenius

Johan Brolenius ( born June 7, 1977 in Örebro ) is a Swedish former alpine skier. He specializes in the slalom discipline. He is currently a technology coach of the Swedish Ski Association.

Career

Brolenius started his career at FIS races. He was allowed to perform well at the FIS competitions, thanks to the Swedish Association, compete in the European Cup. Brolenius ' World Cup debut was on January 3, 1998 at slalom in Kranjska Gora, where he however failed to qualify for the second round itself. The first World Cup points, the Swede won the slalom in Kranjska Gora in 1999 as the first 20 top-10 place he reached in the slalom in Chamonix in 2000 with a ninth place.

His best World Cup result was the fifth place in the slalom in Zagreb on 9 January 2009. His only top 10 place outside of the slalom he won in 2004 with the combination in Chamonix. He participated in the 2006 Olympics in Turin and has been at the races in Sestriere eighth in the slalom and 18th in the combination. 1999 and 2002 he was Swedish Champion in slalom.

In June 2009 Brolenius finished his career to become a professional poker player. Since 2012 he works as a technology trainer for the Swedish Ski Association.
