Johannes Grubenmann

John Grubenmann ( born June 15, 1707 depths, Appenzell Ausserrhoden, † June 12, 1771 in depths ) was a Swiss architect.

Life

John Grubenmann was born as the second son of a carpenter and architect Ulrich Grubenmann (1668-1736) in depths. Grubenmann married in 1731 Anna Schlaepfer. He had two sons, John (* 1739, the monastery builders of Wettingen ) and Hans Ulrich (* 1743, † 1779 in Trogen ). Together with his brothers Jacob and Hans Ulrich he was involved in the reconstruction of Bischofszell in 1743. He specialized in church towers and acquired by the bridges at Reichenau a special reputation.
