Johannes Musaeus

Johannes Musaeus ( born February 7, 1613 Long Meadows near Ilmenau, † May 4, 1681 in Jena ) was a German Protestant theologian.

Life

Musaeus was a son of the pastor Johannes Musaeus and his wife Sibylla storm. His two younger brothers were later theologian Johann and Peter Musaeus. With the theologians Tilemann Hesshus, Daniel Hoffmann and Simon Musaeus, he was also related.

His first lessons learned Musaeus, like his brothers, by his father. Later he attended the Latin school in Arnstadt and studied from 1633 at the Lutheran School of the University of Erfurt, inter alia, Georg Großhain (1601-1638), Johann Matthäus Meyfart, Daniel Stahl and Nicolaus Zapf.
